*UPDATE AS OF FEBRUARY 9: if you tried to book a room at the aloft and were told no rooms were available, we are so sorry! the
block filled up and was supposed to be automatically increased, but was
not. more rooms will be available likely friday the 10th, but by
monday the 13th at the latest. in addition, because of this confusion
the booking deadline has been extended to february 22.
we've reserved blocks at two hotels (with two very different styles) right next door to each other. they're very close to multiple subway lines (1-2 stops to manhattan), dining, shopping, and of course all the wedding action!

TRANSPORTATION
flying in? we recommend taking a yellow cab from the airport rather than a car service. lines at the airport taxi stands are generally short (or move quickly) and the cost can be significantly less. however, on the way back to the airport you may have a hard time flagging down a cab in brooklyn. see the car service section below for the companies we trust. if you're staying at a hotel, they can generally call a service for you as well.
driving in? if you're staying at the aloft or the sheraton, both hotels have valet parking for $39/day and self-parking for $25/day. you may be able to find street parking as well, just make sure to read the street cleaning signs before leaving your car for an extended period.
subway there are multiple subway lines right by the hotels. all are 1-2 stops from manhattan (1 stop in the other direction to the wedding venue!) and about 15-20 minutes to midtown. the hoyt street stop on the 2/3 is on the block, the a/f/n/r jay street - metrotech stop is two blocks away, and it's about 2.5 blocks to the dekalb avenue b/d/n/q/r stop.
